On October 28th, 2020, I was sitting in my 2019 Subaru Forester at an intersection in Southern Pines waiting to turn left. My light was green, however, I am a super cautious driver and I had not advanced into the intersection.  I had a strong sense of God speaking to my heart and saying WAIT. 

The next thing I knew, I saw white to my left and felt my car sliding. Once I came to a stop, I immediately heard a very kind, calm voice speaking through my STARLINK saying, "Mrs. Stickler, I see you've been involved in an accident. Are you alright?" I looked around and saw people coming up to my car with very concerned looks on their faces. They explained I had been involved in a collision with a vehicle that had run a red light. 

Thankfully, as a result of the driver's side air bag curtain, I had not been able to see anything to my left.  At this point, I lifted up my left side air bag and was stunned to see I was looking into the center of the engine of a Lincoln Navigator. A vehicle much larger and weighing almost twice as much as mine.

Thanks to God's protection and the amazing safety features of my Subaru, the impact to me was incredibly and unbelievably absorbed to a large extent. I was able to climb out of the passenger side of my Subaru on my own and walk away.

When I saw the impact to my driver's side door and passenger door, the damages to my car, and the ways the Subaru had absorbed the  impact to protect me and save my life, I was in awe and beyond grateful. My Subaru had done exactly and miraculously what it was created to do. And I am told by Brandon Williams, my Subaru Technology and Sales Guru at Strider Subaru, all those safety features occurred in milliseconds.

Needless to say, I am a Subaru Forester fan for life!

In fact, since my car was totaled, we just purchased our 2021 Subaru Forester Limited from Brandon last week and I am feeling much safer driving again, knowing I'm protected.
